Many people were shocked when Sammy Hagar left Van Halen in 1996.

The story on why still depends on who you speak to.

Sammy even had a choice 4 letter word for the band when they downplayed Michael Anthony’s contribution to their albums.

So it was even more shocking when on Eddie Van Halen’s last birthday Sammy tweeted to him to have a good day.

More shockingly Eddie responded in a kind manner.

That made some speculate since Van Halen has not been touring or recording with David Lee Roth that maybe Sammy would be back.

You can watch Hagar apologize to the band in the video below.

He even addresses the idea of people thinking he wants back in the band.

If you ask me Sammy’s apology is a result of all the rockers we’ve lost in 2016 making it apparent to him that life is short.
