The future for Aerosmith certainly looks rocky at best.
Has the band considered replacing Steven?
Guitarist Brad Whitford said “Absolutely, we have considered it — but whether it will happen, I don’t know, I think it would be great.”
The trouble started back in 2009 when Tyler began working on a solo record.
Here in 2016 Joe Perry has Hollywood Vampires, Brad Whitford is again making music with Whitford St. Holmes and bassist Tom Hamilton will be touring with Thin Lizzy.
To say the band seems fractured at this point is an understatement.
But how far have they gone in considering a replacement singer?
Joe Perry has reportedly approached the likes of Paul Rodgers and Chris Cornell.
Sammy Hagar confirmed that he had been offered the slot but that Tyler’s management threatened legal action if the band moved ahead without him.
Who else are they looking at?
According to Brad Whitford “a lot of people, everybody from Myles Kennedy, We had a bunch of people a while ago, like Sammy Hagar. It would be a lot of fun.”
It isn’t definite that Steven Tyler is out of a job but it can’t be good when Aerosmith is looking around.
I am a proud native Long Islander. I love playing Rock N' Roll on the air at WBAB as well as with my band Joe Rock and The All Stars. The other things I love are my family, my dog Presley, my Harley and a good meal!
